I’m Phil, born in 1952 and took up playing the Theremin in December 2022. I play on a Subscope Voicematic V120 made by Dominik Bednarz in Germany. I have limited practice time, so my standard is reasonable rather than good. My learning has come from Carolina Eyck through her “Art of Playing the Theremin”. Up until recently I was using r/Theremin on Reddit, but have now moved away from all corporation controlled social media. I post my Theremin videos on PeerTube and use Mastodon as my main social media. I live with my partner Hayley, two cats and three fish tanks in Hampshire where we work as gardeners. I would love this to become a good replacement for r/Theremin.

Lovely, and ya, it does have such a unique timbre to it, eh? Any group or song inspire you to play? Like did you hear good vibrations and have a eureka moment?

Not really, I enjoy a lot of music and particularly bands like Goldfrapp, David Bowie, Massive Attack, Pink Floyd etc Probably the thought of playing along with Pink Floyd inspired me. Definately listening to Carolina Eyck play was the biggest motivation.
