Making the Predator the protagonist completely breaks the premise, imo. This is going to devolve into MCU style paint-by-numbers scifi action, it’ll probably have a few cool moments but completely miss the uniqueness of the franchise.
I understand where you are coming from but there are some great yautja-focused stories from novels, etc. Given it’s the director from Prey, I’m going in with an open mind. I get the skepticism though.
