What would public ownership actually look like in practice? With socialism I basically just think of it as being every business being employee owned and operated, but I’ve always had a harder time understanding what communism would actually mean in practice

Like would it be “the government” owning all businesses and the people owning the government? But I’m pretty sure there’s supposed to not be any government, so I get kinda stuck there in terms of coming up with a simple way of thinking about it 😅
