Sorry, I hope this is the right place to ask, and I’m probably just being silly and missing something obvious. But is it possible to set the default language for my own posts?
The reason I’m asking is, the language list is fairly long when I write a new comment or post. Scrolling to “English” is cumbersome, and by default the language’s unset for my own posts. I don’t want to filter the posts I’m seeing, just mark mine since I imagine it’s helpful for others.

In your user settings you can select only a subset of the languages to use (I suggest selecting both English and ‘undetermined’ for English-speakers). This will hide posts in unselected languages and also limit the choice of language you can set for a new post. If setup this way, the language of a new post should default to English if none is specified.
I don’t want to hide posts, however.
You may be out of luck in that case. 😑
There’s a longstanding issue open about this for the default web UI, and I also couldn’t find this setting in either the Tesseract or Photon front-ends. (It seems there’s little motivation to add the setting to the backend API either).
If it’s causing too much friction, you could consider ignoring the language selection and let it default to ‘undefined’. Probably 99% of people will still see your posts.
Consider also adding your voice to the UI issue above so the devs may be more likely to prioritise it.
Thanks! Seems like it might be a good idea to poke the web UI makers about it, I’ll do so.
