The company was co-founded by Kyle Kazan, a former Southern California police officer and special education teacher turned cannabis investor, and Graham Farrar, a Santa Barbara tech entrepreneur.
So many of the people I’ve seen with money connected to legal weed are some real ghouls, there are good reasons a lot of people didn’t support some legalization bills in the past in CA. Most legal states I’ve seen still have a thriving black market because of shit like absurd fees for licenses or prohibitive taxes.
There’s a reason most places that legalized explicitly banned people with weed charges from operating stores. It was never about correcting the past, it was that it became too profitable for them not to allow rich white men to profit. Weed quality plummeted with legalization, as suddenly the only people who had it were those who only cared about profit. People will tell you, “oh Cali has the best, oh Colorado has the best.” No. It is worse everywhere I have been than it was in 2010 under the primarily cottage run medical industry. That’s why dabs are so big now. Good weed is a mirage, solid strain genetics are gone, and everything is sprayed with chemical pesticides.
Feds absolutely want to shove it all back in the box like it’s 1955 again.
Farm bill weed goes away in September, too.
