According to SNE’s official statement, the judicial court of Paris issued a ruling on July 23, 2025, mandating the blocking of the piracy website Japscan within French territory. Japscan, which illegally hosted nearly 13,000 manga, manhwa, manhua and comic book titles, was seen as a significant hub for piracy, attracting more than 690,000 unique monthly visitors in France. The successful legal action was a collaborative effort between the SNE, Crunchyroll and other manga publishers – Casterman, Delcourt, Glénat, Kana, Ki-oon (AC Média), Kurokawa, Panini and Pika.
