It’s a bit hard to blame trans people when the person who did it isn’t trans. I guess there’s the whole “he was brainwashed by his evil trans roommate!” angle. Which the people who believe that already believe it without being sold a narrative. Everyone else is just gonna be like “ok, dude. Sure…”

The facetiousness of going “young man logged many hours in VR… you know who else likes VR? Furries!” is too obvious to mention. Many people here have pointed out that furries are a longtime LGBT accepting community and thus a popular proxy target for reactionaries. I’ve noticed this before but in recent days I’ve observed that chuds, from internet randos to pols and pundits, really try to sexualize their targets of opprobrium. Try to play up the lurid details like. Get their audiences juices flowing with a little taste of pleasures beyond their ken and then tell them to get really angry. That kind of conditioning response is wild and these people are not well.
