I called it mediocre because I read its specs, and they’re mediocre. 64GB internal storage, no Android (instead it has to sync with an Android or iOS app on your phone), grayscale screen, no frontlight, doesn’t come with a folio cover (sold separately for only $200!).

Those are the specs of a $400 tablet.

The pen looks pretty good though. I wouldn’t spend $275 on it, but I could definitely see that being worth it because of the fashion aspect to someone who wants to show off.

I know it’s a fashion accessory, I said it’s not a fashion accessory that will last decades like a pen. It has a non-user replaceable battery that will be dead in five years with regular use. Maybe 8 if you only charge to 80%. I have no problem spending crazy money on something fashionable if it will last a long time. I have a drawer full of fancy fountain pens that will still work great in 2060. (In fact, two of my pens are over sixty years old and still work great.)

I feel like you’re taking my comments personally, which isn’t my intention. My problem is with Montblanc’s pricing, not you. There’s no reason to use personal attacks and insults, and there’s certainly no reason to hastily generalize the entire Lemmy community.
