Now, a capitalist view might say that a monopsony for a significant amount of your energy would be bad, economically.

A nationalist view might say that depending entirely on one country for energy would be bad for national security.

But a chauvinist view makes it obvious that Europe can only purchase energy from a country that is the correct type of white. And it can only be the energy they are willing to sell. So it’s good that America is willing do this.

As I called it here, the goal is clearly to force Europe to become a captive energy market for the US. China used to be a big customer for American LNG, but with Power of Siberia 2 now having been approved, that market will dry up. The US will force Europeans to buy their surplus instead.
