Firaxis and 2K continue to twiddle with Civilization 7's exploration phase, adding new map generators that produce more "natural" and "varied" terrain.

    Isn’t the problem with the game the gameplay rather than the map generation? This really doesn’t seem to be actually fixing the problems that players have been complaining about and account for it’s mixed rating on Steam.

      Not to mention you can get all sorts of crazy map generation and custom maps mods for the earlier games in the series.

      My favourite is the Dune map generator for the Civ 4 Dune total conversation mod. You can actually win by converting a large part of the map into a lush paradise.
