Both are probably upside down though, because I think the ground pin should be on top to protect against something slipping between the socket and the plug and resting on the pins potentially shorting them
Also for the flip switches down=off is a more common (expected) position
But then again it’s Australia we’re taking about, so maybe upside down was the point
The pins on post non cheap crap are protected with a cover like the UK plugs. Down is on because then you can see the mark to show the unit is on at a glance because those are almost always mounted below chest height.
Thanks for clarification, my unfounded assumption was obviously incorrect. There’s not much info about the AS 3112 type socket but it is, indeed, oriented that way
