Lol, exactly. Netflix wanted people to think “Ooh, Netflix original, that’s gonna be great!” but instead they think “Oh dear, Netflix original. It’s gonna be slop that gets cancelled after one season.”
Plus, the “original” branding isn’t even restricted to titles Netflix produced. They also apply it to things they simply licensed but have exclusive licensing in the showing country. A lot of anime is in this category, effectively “pretending” it’s an original when it isn’t.
So the label at this point has become utterly meaningless.
