Started a new community !antimeme@sopuli.xyz 2 weeks ago and it has 450 subs and 1.5k monthly users already. Theres other people making posts there not just me and its gaining traction already.
Also less than 10 subs away from hitting 3k subs for !aneurysmposting@sopuli.xyz which is by now one of the biggest comms on the instance by subs and active users.
!shortstories@literature.cafe is fun no matter what. Also the second most subbed and active in its instance. Important comm there.
!wouldyourather@lemmy.dbzer0.com is very easy to get going. I make a couple posts there and gets active instantly. I just dont to flood it woth low quality stuff so dont post there too much.
Edit. Hit 3k!
Some very nice communities 😊
Out of random curiosity, why so many different instances? Do you often switch instances based on what you want to see or is there some other reason I’m not thinking of?
With literature cafe I wanted to grow a small niche instance that I appreciated. I even have !originalpoetey@literature.cafe there.
Dbzer0 was my first account and my home instance. Its my primary account.
Sopuli was a good very neutral non political instance that I want having comms like antimeme instead of .world or .ml which I’m not a fan of. So I made a few there.
I’m also on slrpnk, beehaw, lemmynsfw. I just felt like I wanted to help more than 1 instance. Not that 1 user matters lol. But I still post enough to make a noticeable difference on Lemmy.
I also consume and post differently across instances.
!space_games@piefed.world seems to have had a smooth enough launch. I am largely the only poster, but that’s to be expected with more niche gaming communities (I’ve been curating/moderating !tycoon@lemmy.world for over a year and I account for over 95% of posts).
I don’t mind as long as there is comment engagement and a few regulars that I recognize.
Considering moving over some smaller gaming communities where I am the primary poster to piefed.
I lost my co-mod some weeks back, so that was a bit of an ol’ bummer. Altho he wasn’t really an active contributor anymore, it was nevertheless motivational for me to imagine that at least one other regular member was involved in the project.
As for the c/'s theme and popularity, Euro comics have some presence around the world, but get pretty decisively out-competed by American and Japanese comics, most places. Also, there’s the problem of their language being customarily French, which doesn’t work too well for the Fediverse’s general audience. All of that to say that I’m not too optimistic about finding a new co-mod anytime soon. Which is too bad in some ways, since their presence does help motivate me to put more effort in to the project.
Still, everyone’s got problems…
I moderate !wholesome@reddthat.com with a lovely bloke called Blaze that you might know 😉 we’re doing well got lots of engagement.
I also mod !nicememes@sopuli.xyz which I’ve managed to get quite active which is nice. I’ve been blessed with lovely chatty members!
!womensstuff@blahaj.piefed.zone is still going well. I’ve got an amazing team there.
So life is good!
I have to get back to !wholesome@reddthat.com !
It’s fine mate you’re busy other places
A month into my revival of !TwoGoobers@lemmy.zip after the Lemm.ee closure. (Starting by cross posting everything from the old community in case it all disappears). Thankfully I got a bunch of new posts too :3
A lot of fun comments from people and even a few posts from new users! Surprisingly, 14th place in terms of MAU for our instance (nearly 1k 😊).
Getting to see the wholesome side of Lemmy always makes me happy
Almost a year in and !dull_mens_club@lemmy.world is very close to 3k subs!
A bit surprisingly, !fruit@slrpnk.net is seeing more activity than I would have imagined, and everywhere else is more quiet.
!plantswap@mander.xyz has someone offering free milkweed seeds though!
!vegan@slrpnk.net should probably be more active than it is.
Subbed to em all. I should use my slrpnk account more often!
Just me me kicking around in !practical_healthspan@lemmy.zip
