      The kind where they get 100million users at the 2 minute rate then jack it up later.

      What’re they gonna do? Spend $500 on a console/pc they don’t have? They’ll be watching 2minutes of ads for every 15minutes of game time just like tv eventually. They’re counting on the fact that free-to-play remains the choice people will make compared to the up front cost of $500 and game prices of $80 each.

      Judging by how free-to-play has worked out in the rest of the industry I think they’re making a good bet. Free-to-play will get them hundreds of millions of users, just like how free-to-play has taken over as the best business model for online games and liveservice.

      They’re betting on a free-to-play model that removes hardware entirely. This will work, hundreds of millions of kids will try it at least, because it’s free.
