Why would I want to get involved in the word soup that scrolls by faster than anyone can reasonably read it

I like watching protests and other events in real time.

Game shows have been doing this same thing for decades, and while the technology has changed (TV and phone, to stream and chat) most people who watched didn’t attempt to call/chat. Why should it be different now?

How am I supposed to watch a “normal video” of something happening live?

I occasionally watch DayZ livestreams but I always close the chat. I might occasionally open it to comment on something but I couldn’t care less what other people are saying there. I’m watching a game - not chatting.

Is the opinion that live streams suck or that people who watch them but don’t comment should just watch prerecorded videos?
