One of the few shows where I hope they deviate from the source.

I tried with Lettie, but there are so many landmines in her conversation tree that I simply couldn’t be bothered to continue second, third, and fourth guessing every message I sent her. Ultimately I pissed her off and that was that.
No idea. Only the demihuman characters work this way. Nobody gets old old from leveling either. I would understand it better if it were just physical progression, but the added insult of the slave character in question getting passed around from slaver to slaver while being stuck with the mentality of a child is just straight up fucking bonkers. IIRC she even loses the slave crest that binds her to the MC but she insists she undergo the process of being enslaved to him again because it “strengthens their bond” (LOL.)
It’s worse. The MC’s love interest is an enslaved child who only ages up because the MC forces her to fight and “level up.” Apparently in the novel she even regresses back to a child at one point lmao. Nothing weird to see here!
I know fans of this show claim the slavery aspect is super nuanced, but it seemed super sketchy in the anime.
I can see some backlash happening if players can’t reach the same damage output they could with statsticks. I trust Pablo, though.
Dunno how far you got in Haibane Renmei, but that show really is fantastic. Very interesting world with lots of room to ponder what it all means.
Perfect description of DanMachi. Could never put into words why it got so exhausting to watch.
Keep them there. “3.0 + 1.0” or whatever the last one is called might be the worst thing I’ve forced myself to watch. Completely indecipherable, looks ridiculous, and lacks direction. They’re just weird movies overall. If you watch 1.0 it gives you the impression you’re watching a remake of the series, but each new entry deviates from the OG until it’s completely detached. I’m sure there’s some 4D chess going on to explain how it’s all tied in, but I don’t have 50 hours to spend on evageeks these days.
I liked it at first, but 2 seasons were enough for me. I watched a bit of 3, saw it was more of the same, and tapped out. The side characters are infinitely more interesting than the MC, whose development can best be described as glacial.
Jade’s AC-130 mode helps a lot. Funnily enough, she can get staggered in the air when the tank first shows up, but after that she’s fine.
Exact same situation happened to someone I know. They spent like 30 minutes in the mission, then realized what the bounty requirement was. Tried kiting some enemies outside, but they wouldn’t spawn. So unlucky.
Also, was peeved when being in Jade’s AC-130 didn’t count towards killing enemies from high ground. Can’t get much higher than that.
I can see the other players on your squad probably typing up the same post from their perspective right now LOL. But don’t get it twisted - player 3 is a certified asshole.
If I join a farm and find the majority of the squad using a method other than the one I think is the best, I’ll usually entertain them for the minimum commitment and dip afterwards. I would feel like I’m trolling if I ran off to do my own thing, even if it’s “meta.” This is just my opinion.
You shouldn’t worry about the report, but let’s say even in the worst scenario you get punished for it (not sure how, but just assuming it’s possible.) Email DE support and explain what went down. They’ll do the right thing. Don’t feel bad for what you did! You used the report system as intended.
Getting Mushishi vibes with the white hair, weird eye, and swirling stuff.
It goes from average to very good after the first half of episodes. Seemed like the budget went up. I’d recommend it.
I just started the second season, so trying to catch up. So far I’d say its decent, but I’ve been told it gets way better.
I just hope they do her right. The deluxe skin shook me a bit. I know they’re supposed to be alternate takes on the frame, but it looked like a crazy Ivara skin.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Mushishi. Very serious, well-told stories told in single episodes. Occasionally a younger character will come along, but it’s mostly adults, and the cast outside of the MC rotates episode to episode.
“Please stop making isekai.”
“OK, how about a show where a man’s wife becomes an elementary school student?”
“Forget I said anything. Go make more isekai”
Thanks for digging that up. Steve’s got an eye for comments, that’s for sure.
That’s great, but that’s all the show has going for it. The dialogue is uniquely terrible in a way that defies explanation. Could be a dub issue I guess? Subs weren’t that great either.
