I’m hoping that the Trump administration can convince liberals that the second amendment is not their enemy, but it’s important to remember that every time we get any expansion of gun control it is because Republicans did it.
Republicans will only expand gun control when the ‘undesirables’ start arming themselves.
It sounds counterintuitive but The most effective path to real gun control is to encourage minorities to exercise their second amendment.

He’s not scared, He’s not bored, He’s not brooding, He’s having a fucking day, and he’s all out of bubble gum.
Despite the ever-increasing Gore and violence he never has to say or do anything problematic, just fucking brutally uncompromisingly violence against people that super duper obviously need it.
Comical masculinity instead of toxic masculinity. Nothing even needs to change about his character.

I’ve seen More bald eagles land in the yard year than I have seen lightning bugs.
If camera phones and the internet were available then they absolutely would have hidden their face, in the beginning at least

Having made teeth for a while, this was a first for everyone in the lab. At some point teeth don’t get much bigger. At some point the amount of metal and porcelain were putting into the mouth of this 82-year-old woman is a substantial weight of material not to mention its volume.
When one doctor refused to make any bigger teeth she went to other doctors who required her to pay up front. We got this lady’s case back a dozen times.
We’ve remade this thing from scratch at her expense and she looked downright cartoonish every time we’d get photos back.
The frame for her full arch mandibular implant retained PFM was the single largest cast of gold alloy anyone in the entire lab had ever poured or seen poured for dental work.
Some people have money and they’re addicted to the process. I can’t think of any other reason for this lady to have done that.

The IDF is turning the civilian population into human shields. Here is to hoping the Israelis can find some shred humanity or responsibility and overthrow their genocidal government before they can expand their aggression even further.

Seems like the actual problem is wages, staffing, and working conditions. The problem is greed at the top. Big fucking surprise.
AFaithfulNihilist@lemmy.worldto Television@piefed.social•What TV show were you highly excited for, but ended up quickly disappointing you?5·17 天前I don’t understand why they would take a story and then adapt it into a TV series that says the exact opposite.
I see this happen a lot with TV shows where the people who are making the show genuinely don’t seem to give a shit about what was in the original work.
I get the impression that people who buy intellectual property rights to existing works actually hate those works and their fans and would like to remove the themes, motifs, and messages of the original work from the common culture altogether.
Gay people still can’t get married in Israel right? So these are both awful countries run by awful people. It just so happens that Israel is the aggressor.
One party being bad doesn’t make the other party good. If we are lucky every single employed person both governments will suddenly drop dead.

It’s seriously basic stuff like not knowing what a url, folder, directory or path is, not knowing that files are on the computer in a folder someplace instead of in “such-and-such app”, no concept of how to even begin troubleshooting and something like a genuine fear of anything that is not an Apple interface.
The kids had windows laptops that they would use for school work but then I would find them composing everything on their iPhones only to email it to themselves and then submit it from their Windows laptops.
Things like attaching files were a real chore for people that don’t understand file systems or sizes, and it doesn’t help that many of their teachers are similarly lacking the computer skills necessary to understand where these kids are falling off.
I worked in the IT department, but I spent a lot of time talking to teachers. Several of them brought me into their classrooms to teach ‘curiosity skills’ since I think the computer can often teach you how to use it if you’re just curious enough to try.

You would expect licenses to be more common than ownership. Also no matter how many cars you own, it only counts as one for this stat, one car owner can own many cars and still be just one car owner.
AFaithfulNihilist@lemmy.worldto GOP@lemm.ee•The anti-woke warriors used to defend free speech. Now they make McCarthyism look progressive | Arwa MahdawiEnglish2·29 天前They like McCarthyism. They think McCarthy was on to something. They think they’re really were communists everywhere and still are.
15 years ago I was talking to my aunt, a staunch proud Republican, Union teacher at her local university, and sole inheritor of her father’s fortune. When I compared America’s response to the war on terror while using McCarthyism as an unfavorable comparison she said, “not everybody thinks that’s a bad thing.”
I had to ask her to clarify, “McCarthyism? Isn’t it fundamentally unamerican to prosecute people for their thoughts, words, and association with other people? Doesn’t the first amendment mean anything?”
What she said chilled me to my bones… “The first amendment isn’t meant for those people.”
That’s who they are. Conservatives are people who think you don’t deserve rights if you disagree with them.
It really will but not because it’s so functional that we can’t compete with it.
It’s going to cause mass unemployment because the imagined potential end of labor is so lucrative that it’s worth just about any price. Since the people who will own it don’t have to pay most of that price they are of course willing to force it into every single space out there to further externalize research and development costs onto an unwilling public.
They genuinely don’t care what is spent, broken, or lost in their pursuit of infinite wealth.

But they aren’t saying death to Israelis when saying death to the IDF. You have to understand the difference between wishing for genocide upon a group of people and wishing for the end of an institution that does nothing but harm and bad.
It’s also worth noting that the only right thing to do for a member of the IDF is to fight the IDF.
They are morally obligated to tear down the infrastructure of genocide that they are a part of. The only good IDF soldier is the one who is working in earnest to oppose the IDF. All of the rest of them are cowardly garbage human beings who should probably go to the Hague.
A tremendous number of them probably should be hung until death and then buried at sea with no ceremony. People who do what they do should have even their memories killed.
