What country are you in with such high tech PO boxes? Ours are just metal boxes. They’re usually in a post office, but sometimes they’re just on the side of the road. I’ve never needed to interact with a touchscreen to get mail.

Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Does the "White Power Ranger" seem like an odd title?English26·3 days agoMakes sense still. There are several colors of Power Rangers, and they are always referred to as the [Color] Power Ranger.
Does this sound off to you?
Hey honey, the clown cancelled for little Bobby’s 4th birthday, do you want me to call the Blue Power Ranger to replace them?
Epyon was the first Gundam I ever built waaaaaay back in the late 90s/early 00s. Easily my favorite.

He would rescue the spider from the drainpipe, bring it to a safe location to rest and heal, and then assure it that the drainpipe can be climbed with enough effort should the spider wish to.

Deffo legitimate problems one might have with a software for sure. I don’t run into that a lot over here on Lemmy.ca though, which is nice.
I stand by my assessment though. It’s still weird to me to promote one thing by shooting down another. Feels too much like politics in North America to me. They could have made a “Support Piefed” community instead.
Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Fediverse@lemmy.world•Just started a community for those who wish to move away from LemmyEnglish291·28 days agoPeople can always find problems if they look hard enough, lol. There are probably some legitimate complaints about Lemmy, but nothing is perfect. I find their messaging weird though. Like, you can be pro Piefed without having to be anti Lemmy. Seems needlessly combative to me.
Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Fediverse@lemmy.world•Just started a community for those who wish to move away from LemmyEnglish25·28 days agoIt appears to be a Piefed community. You can see it on Lemmy through the magic of federation though.

At the time I posted there were only two other comments and both in the negatives, but nothing else. The post was, and still is, decently upvoted.
Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Android@lemdro.id•Review: The Minimal Phone wants you to hate phones, and it worksEnglish1·30 days agoYou ever try any Spritz reading apps on it? Spritz is an e reading software that displays one word at a time at whatever words per minute you choose. Good for speed reading, but for some reason it’s controversial amongst my reading friends lol. My Boox Nova 3 can play videos, so I’m sure the Palma has the refresh rate
Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Android@lemdro.id•Review: The Minimal Phone wants you to hate phones, and it worksEnglish3·30 days agoWhat all do you use your Palma for? Can you get any third party apps on it? I have a Boox tablet from a few years ago and it’s great for taking notes, but a palm sized eReader has been pretty alluring to me for a while.

Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is a movie that "looks like" it would suck, but actually is well written and acted and a good time?English20·30 days agoI will vouch for Speed Racer. Don’t get me wrong, it’s corny as heck, but still also rad. The race scenes are fantastic! Kind of like a Godzilla movie though, you’re not there for the dialogue.

Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your favorite instrument to listen to?English2·1 month agoGave them a shot, but they’re just not my genre. Thanks for the recommendation though! My partner is more into metal and stuff, so I’ll pass it on.
Alabaster_Mango@lemmy.cato Games@lemmy.world•Deathloop is free to claim on Epic GamesEnglish7·1 month agoIs this now a fight between random internet strangers? Are we supposed to use slurs? (JK, just in case)
Totally fair! Nothing can appeal to everyone, and I would never be accused of having average tastes. Loads of people seem to like Mario
CartKart, but playing it makes me want to Kyle my way through a wall. I had just played Prey Mooncrash, and was jazzed up on the loop mechanic. If I played again I may feel differently.
I think one of the problems comes from society’s incredibly narrow definition of “good”, and extremely broad definition of “bad” or “evil”. You can only be a “good” person if you have no flaws, have done no wrong, and devote yourself entirely to virtuous acts. Anything less than that will earn you a “bad person” label from someone. Nobody is perfect, so you can always find something that is less than agreeable in a person.
