Compare it to a gaming PC or console instead.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•The Naysayers Wont Stop ProgressEnglish4·3 days agoI haven’t, but I also intentionally stay way from seeking it out and don’t browse all, at least not locally. The instance also went down for a few days a couple of weeks ago due to an expired cert, which nearly made me leave for a different instance. Other than that, it’s been fine so far.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto Fediverse memes@feddit.uk•The Naysayers Wont Stop ProgressEnglish6·4 days agoI joined because of the open federation, but mostly because I wanted to have full control over which instances I block. I’m definitely not conservative though.

There are plenty of community hosted servers of games that operate with no issues. This has corp written all over it.
Awesome! Keep signing though, some signatures will fail to validate so there should be as many as possible.

Not disagreeing with you, but with inflation that’s about $558 as of this comment.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto Games@sh.itjust.works•Video games spending by young Americans is dropping sharply, report suggestsEnglish6·9 days agoHard drives are affected by bit rot even when not in use. A disk check every six months would help, but is not a guarantee against data corruption or loss. M-DISCs are physically etched, and should last around a lifetime to a thousand years, depending on who you believe. The catch would be being able to read it in the distant future (in other words, if you’re using M-DISC as a backup solution, you should also have a backup disc drive).
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is anyone else not feeling that patriotic for July 4?English3·9 days agoYeah, forgot to mention pets. All of mine hate the fireworks, so it makes for a miserable time all around.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is anyone else not feeling that patriotic for July 4?English5·9 days agoHow do fireworks help my neighbor’s PTSD, let alone my own mental health?
I can grill on my own time, thanks.
please do
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is anyone else not feeling that patriotic for July 4?English302·9 days agoI haven’t “celebrated” the fourth in nearly a decade for this reason. On top of that fireworks are pretty bad for everything and those with PTSD.

Since I came to that realization, I’ve started to gather all of my lithium batteries to take stock and start to get rid of some.
I’m definitely more worried about the batteries I’ve forgotten about that ended up in boxes or drawers. Another thing to keep me up a night, yay.
AmbiguousProps@lemmy.todayto Technology@lemmy.world•PSA: Stop Using These Fire-Prone Anker Power Banks Right NowEnglish31·11 days agoI lost my model A1263 in a box during a move. I’ve been looking for it over the last couple of weeks once I was notified about this, but no luck. I actually emailed Anker to ask if there’s a risk of fire even in storage or not in use, and apparently it can happen even when not under any load and completely discharged.
I don’t even know if I still have it. Fingers crossed that my serial isn’t one of the affected ones, but I’ll keep looking and hoping that it doesn’t burn my house down.
