Abandoned mine several years ago. Kind of a shame, they were a good option for a while for people who weren’t windows fans but didn’t want to run linux full time. Apple just doesn’t really have any offerings for people who want a desktop that’s upgradeable, but don’t want to drop the money on a Mac Pro.

Nah, very much has cut feature energy. It takes time to model armor. But they also aren’t updating cutscenes or voices, so it’s very half-baked. This being a planned feature that was cut to make launch date is the only way this makes sense.

I think you could also argue that customers deserve a more transparent price structure, but honestly? The system is the way it is, it’s been that way for my entire life, and it’s probably not going to change any time soon, so I’m not really all that fussed by it. And another thing? If you’re one of those people who’s like, “I am against the tipping system and therefore I am not going to tip,” you’re not actually making any sort of point that’s going to change anyone’s mind, you’re just fucking over a server that depends on those tips, and that makes you an asshole. Also? If we ever actually did eliminate tipping, you’re just going to see menu prices go up by (at least) 20%, not all of which will probably actually make it into the pockets of the workers.
Now all of the stuff about asking for tips for roles where previously tips were never expected is a different issue. People need to learn to be grownups and give no tip. Even if you have to manually type in 0 for the tip. Even if the person at the register is looking you in the eye when you do it. The situation is very different for people who are making tipped minimum wage vs untipped.
Really? I’m sometimes caught offguard by how meager the Lemmy featureset is in places.
Edit: That said, even quite unpopular posts are unlikely to get so many replies that the user can’t deal with them, just due to the number of people on Lemmy right now.
I do think that bluesky has a ton of momentum right now and is a viable alternative. But the thing about microblogging sites is that if the specific people you want to follow aren’t on them, there’s not really a substitute. I know I’ve heard people say that, for example, a lot of japanese game developers are still primarily on twitter (I’ve never been a twitter/bsky enjoyer so I can’t speak to it personally).
