Or at the very least, participate in a critical mass in your city from time to time.

It is used by just as many healthcare workers too who were the primary driver behind getting them built. Mount Sinai Hospital and Sick Kids strongly opposed Bill 212. It will clog the roads with car traffic and those who continue to cycle will be in danger.
Cows Look Like Maps@lemmy.caOPto Toronto@lemmy.ca•Doug Ford’s budget will target more Toronto bike lanesEnglish2·2 months agoAgreesd, Ford is going to push lots of Toronto even further away from the cons with this move. It only pleases the outer suburbs, even though it worsens their commute by forcing more people to drive and add to the car traffic.
The loud minority was shooting Bloor West in the foot. The Bloor West BIA used to oppose bike lanes until they changed their minds after they went in and saw the positive impacts. They are now defending them, backed by several economic impact studies which found that 90% of customers arrived by foot, bicycle, or transit. This is consistent with similar situations around the world.
Turning the bike lane back into roadside parking and short sections of car lanes before the next chokepoint will be bad for business and cost lives.

The influencing of support for our right-wing party endorsed by Elon Musk/Trump/Jordan Peterson via X, Facebook, and campaign financing is the real issue imo.

Stop sanewashing a horrific invasion with selfish American-centric reasons. I’m trying to say this in the nicest way possible but this is one of the reasons the world despises the USA right now.
I see these types of comments constantly and it blows my mind that some Americans think this is reasonable and not a deeply offensive and ignorant thing to say.

Any American I see traveling in Canada without a MAGA hat will be welcomed by me with open arms. Canadians have a degree of empathy for what you’re dealing with because we feel threatened by the fascist takeover too.
Canadians and Americans who give a damn about respecting peoples’ dignity, no matter their gender or race, will stand in solidarity.

Many routes through the city are inaccessible via only side streets, and many destinations exist along arterials. His attempt to remove arterial bike routes would make many trips impossible or take significantly longer.
Vote anyways. It’s so easy and if that’s all we can do to participate then it’d be idiotic not to do the bare minimum.

Ontarians continue to fall for it and blame all of his failures on Trudeau while forgiving his scandals and blatant corruption.
He was the leader of the Ontario conservative party before he became mayor and it shows.
Even for the so-called fiscal conservatives, Tory increased the city’s budget by 20% in the first year after taking over from Rob Ford. Decades of conservative mayors and premiers have done serious damage to the city.
