You have a waxed chain, right? Me, too, maybe it’s another factor causing the sticking between the surfaces (I replied to the top level post already). My YBN chain is black coated and thought that maybe the thickness is that much higher than a Shimano chain, that the plates press on the inner joint too much. But I see your KMC chain with a different coating. Interesting indeed.
Not sure if it’s related, but I use Connex links in my Shimano chains with no issues, but I have one YBN chain where it really doesn’t work: it gets stuck at a slight angle (so chain can’t get straight) and I not only heard the ticking but I felt it in the pedals. I had to switch to a KMC link for that specific chain.

I mean, downvote as you like, but this Mercedes looks like the most boring vehicle in a long time: 100% backtracking to BMWs successful approach (while BMW switches to pure electric platform, so the other way around) instead of improving what was wrong (ugly design, price point, UX). This is just another compromised vehicle due to ICE underpinnings and wakes no interest whatsoever in EV enthusiasts crowd. My opinion obviously, but who reacts with something else than a yawn could please explain what is exiting about this?
Thank you all for the many suggestions!
I think the best solution is the most obvious one, that I dumbly discarded: using the cable guide that slots there. I thought it would not stay in place without cables, but I tried to push it in and it holds reasonably well + has them holes for water egress 👀
Pants are on, I’m out!
Very good point. It just look big enough to also pick up a lot of dirt. The BB shells are pretty well sealed by their own, so maybe I follow your recommendation, thanks!
This is exactly the type of thread I expected when posting for help 😆
Good tip! I should still have some of it as I used it in the past.
Some minds are so corrupt…
Maybe next time I upload it in black and white :D
Just a sloppy translation from the German Fahrer, thanks for pointing that out! Should be rider or cyclist, right?
Thanks! I’m proud of it :) Cannot wait to ride it for more than 1km around my place
Ok, thanks! I’ll keep that in check and see if I notice fading in the future.
Thanks for the feedback, I’ll keep an eye on it. I’d really like to do some ascents with this.
According to Specialized, it’s called Satin Flake Silver / Dusky Pink + Champagne Radial Fades / Dune White so you know what to look for ;)
Do you have carbon road shoes and also 0° cleats (red ones I think)? And on the MTB do you already have SPDs?
I know your comment wasn’t so serious but I would be interested in your views if you have experience with SPD and SPD-SL on various terrains :)
So like a scratch in the coating (anodized layer I suppose) that let the salty liquids corrode the aluminum, right? Interesting, thanks for posting :)
I despise SUVs, but purely on looks this latest Leaf is actually the best aka the only one that could be considered pretty
