  • Well, in my country, some leftist parties do have an issue with Putin. Sometimes they ignore his behaviour, others they defend his policies. Never they denounce him, and the few times they do, it’s never in terms as strong or as early as the others. But it shouldn’t be so hard ! The guy is evil and is funding tons of parties in Europe in favour or far right populism…

So I think there is actually room for a non-Putin-aligned, science-based, left wing party in many countries, starting with my own.

  • First, regarding the market saturation question – given how hard it is to make a plane, the market doesn’t have room for that many companies. There used to be tens, hundreds of plane companies but they all consolidated post-ww2 but with rising safety standards and efficiency standards, I don’t see a world with hundreds of passenger jet makers again. Maybe one or two more, but that’s about it.

Secondly, by the west’s standards, France is one of the countries least tied to the US. They have their own military, commandment, nuclear program, and a deep doubt about the US following their late arrival for help. They waited 4 YEARS for their arrival and had to bear nazi oppression and pillaging all that time. And given how the current US president behaves, they were right all along.

Third, though, I don’t see the relationship between Airbus’ safety record and France’s independance. Why did you even bring this up?

  • I have a dehumidifier at home that does only this and the heat is exhausted indoors instead of outside…

It’s not that useful as the room heats up more than the humidity being removed is worth, but I’m considering getting a cheap portable ac unit but I’m worrying about how to install it on my window… And the efficiency being much worse than a properly-installed heat pump where I can close the window when I use it…
