I’ve a slight manageable case of ADHD and I tend to obsessively hyperfocus on tasks. It’s a good relationship because I get a lot of shit done well, and enjoy my work.
If you start forcing me to plan out my day every day, down to 15 minute increments, my productivity drops by around 60%, because I stop concentrating on getting shit done, and start working to rule. Not because I’m vindictive, but because that’s what you asked me to do.
So they got their feelings satisfied with only a major annoyance to everyone and about a month of work wasted among everyone.

The EU has given incalculable money to Orbán while opposition politicians in the EP were asking you all to stop doing that, give the money directly to municipalities or at least check where it’s going. There was zero enforcement even after case after case after case of blatant misuse uncovered. Most of that money ended up paying for a propaganda apparatus that has kept Hungarians in fear for the past 15 years, destroyed communities and families and fomented hate not just domestically, but across Europe. Le Pen was supported from that stolen money. Also the AfD.
But since Orbán was buddy-buddy with your oligarchs, particularly the German car industry, it was all fine. You voted politicians like Merkel in while her buddy Orbán was pushing through things like German car factories only having to pay out overtime three years after accrued, and only if it was not offset with being given less hours years later. We protested that, we were on the streets, there was not one quip from the EU.
And when the recent crises hit, you were all fine with VW laying people off in Germany while keeping the vulnerable Hungarian workers, and only when the chickens really came home to roost, when Orbán is making a fool out of the EU and its leaders on the world stage again and again, now the EU turns off the unlimited money. And just after that happens, we start to clean your mess up, and he’s on his way out. This could have happened 10-15 years ago, and we wouldn’t be in this mess, but the industry needed its wage slaves.
Yet, German and French and whichever other countries’ leadership did not learn one bit. They prop up Vucic, who the incredibly brave students and protestors of Serbia are standing up to, despite being shot at by Western sound cannons. And I won’t even bring up the reluctance of everyone to stop arming a genocidal army in Israel after its leader was indicted by the ICC.

Definitely, and I’m saying that while my jobs were mostly on NoSQL and I love doing it.
My point is more that 90% of use cases don’t need that, and for those that do, you can’t just slap eg. Cassandra at it and pretend it’s a relational database.

Things are more caught in QA or more like Early Access these days.
MongoDB is huge though for all the wrong reasons, businesses think that just because it’s JS, they can just have frontend devs - sorry, they are “fullstack” now - doing DBA work.
I worked as one of two NoSQL DBAs for a Fortune 50 finance company, and there is a ton of CV-driven development going on giving NoSQL a bad name. Most use cases don’t need NoSQL. And for those which do, NoSQL is almost always harder to implement than simple SQL based RDBMSs.

Would 9/11 also qualify for saying FAFO, seeing that the person supposedly organising it was an ex-CIA asset?

ℍ𝕂-𝟞𝟝@sopuli.xyzto Space@mander.xyz•Satellite Collisions Could Be Prevented With a New AI SystemEnglish2·17 hours agoI would guess it uses some NN model for collision avoidance or something. I would argue basic automation is not AI, because if it was, Turing’s Enigma breaker would have been AI as well as every computer program ever written.
AI has always been a marketing term, I’ve seen top researchers struggle to define it. And that’s alright, but it has to be hammered home that any article vaguely mentioning AI might just say “computers” instead.
Maybe one definition I can stand behind is “a computer program made to probabilistically replicate expected outputs by regression using known but not necessarily labeled examples”.
NoSQL has always been a niche use case thing.
For some stuff, no ACID is no problem. They have their place. What I’m more suspicious of is things like Google offering distributed databases that they pretend as if they could break the CAP theorem.

You first have to have a working product that comes back as good from whatever QA you have, then you optimise and build on it. If you have to optimise on day 1, nothing will ever get done. I should know, that’s why I have a ton of personal projects in development hell.
Why would games be different?

Then why do you care? Or how are you not more understanding?
It’s like people saying the US deserves to go to civil war and have people die because some of them elected Trump.
