  • USA being an empire is not really relevant in this discussion. Their influence is dropping by the day due to their own idiocy. Europe not buying russian oil is the correct choice. Nobody should support any country waging war on a sovereign state. That includes Russia, Israel and obviously USA when they actually attack e.g. Iraq or Iran.

Most nations are not aligning with the West over the Rest, meaning the Global North over the developing BRICS bloc coalescing in the Global South, lead by China.

Yes, correct! But still many ex-soviet countries do. Because they fear Russian attacks. It’s not really because of some US shadow cabal forcing them.

    I don’t think you’ve developed media literacy

Thanks, could say the same about you. Or more likely that you just like to find historical anecdotes that support your own world view. That’s fine I guess, you do you.

I guess we can’t even agree on simple things like “war=bad”.

  • OK, so it’s the NATO expansion argument again? “Oh no, you guys want to defend yourselves?” Aggression! Provocation! Russophobia! Damn right we are afraid when we get nuke threats all the time. It only makes sense to join NATO.

Nobody cares what Russia does inside its borders. Nobody wants to attack Russia. I personally just want them to fuck off from Ukraine. But I fully expect them to attack Estonia/etc in the coming years.

Ukraine is a vassal of US empire.

Holy fuck you are delusional :D

the US has been toeing & crossing Russia’s red lines since the 1990s

Why would anyone care about “russias red lines” that extend beyond their own borders? Sovereign nations are free to do whatever they want. Nations choosing to align with the west instead of Russia should tell you something.

  • OK, so a guy wrote a book and that’s basically the proof that US will attack? In the meanwhile Russian media threatens to strike/bomb/nuke/whatever european nations weekly. And is actively attacking a sovereign nation.

Weird, but I guess our world views differ quite a bit. I would personally prefer no war, but definitely understand european willingness to spend money on weapons, just like Russia is doing. We also completely suck at manufacturing, so even matching Russia’s manufacturing capabilities will take years.

EU basically assumed/hoped there would be no war and stopped spending on military for decades. Now war is here and it sure as hell was not caused by us.
