Politics touches everything we do and interact with. Literally name anything and there will be some sort of rules and laws around it that impact whatever the topic of discussion is.

I don’t know why the movies got the direction they did for his motivation but in the comics Thanos is trying to impress Death who he is in love with. It makes more sense than just getting rid of half the people for supposed resource scarcity.

Bro, fuck the Samsung fridge engineers that decided my ice machine doesn’t need to actually be properly insulated and designed an ice box that’s basically going to break and it’s only a matter of time.

I have to keep reminding myself to defrost and clean it out. Last time it got so bad I couldn’t even take the ice tray out without a ton of force. Then I melted the ice but derped and warped the little guide post thingy with heat. Had a tech come out and say it’s unfixable, cool time flushing my money down the toilet … After that I did what I should have done and just reheated it again and bent it and voila problem (I made) solved.

But seriously I hate that fridge with a passion. So much so I’m going out of my way to never buy Samsung again, their customer care is atrocious and quality is hit or miss. I have some Samsung appliances that have been bulletproof so far but I genuinely don’t want to have to cross my fingers their QA didn’t fail because trying to deal with their support for anything is a Kafkaesque hell.

When people say shit like that I really want to just piss on them and tell them I don’t believe I’m pissing on them so it’s obviously not happening.

It’s mind boggling how many people exist that insist reality is wrong. As if just wishing or believing something hard enough will magically make that the truth.

Worst part is that Shirley was going through the process of naturalization and working to be here legally. Through a process the military had put in place for just this exact kind of thing.

She had no criminal record, has been here for a decade, and has faithfully reported for her hearings. Not to mention she is gainfully employed.

Not sure if they have a terrible memory, I think you just have poor reading comprehension. Just glancing through a few of the articles you sent trying to “gotcha” some poster(s) here shows you didn’t even read them. If you did read them you did a bad job understanding the material.

Just for the deportation example: Biden’s deportation and immigration enforcement was not the same as Trump’s now. Biden was aggressively going after actual criminals and he was working to create a path to citizenship for folks that have been here illegally for years and put down roots and contributed to our economy. Now we’re seeing ICE rounding up people for nothing more than their skin color and a “suspicion” they’re not documented. So, just straight up racism.

You included an article where the Dems wanted to keep the green party off a ballot, ok … And? They’re not trying to keep people from voting or suppress the vote. They were trying their best to not have a spoiler candidate on the ballot and felt that aligned with the state’s election laws.

Anyways, I wouldn’t call the parties the same when you can just look at what policies and legislation passed under Democrats vs Republicans. Easy example - the affordable care act.
