I work an office job in what I’d say is an indefensible industry and I fucking hate it and my ghoulish coworkers. No chance organizing this workplace, class consciousness is completely absent and people are too busy enjoying their treats to care about anything else or see society collapsing around them. Even if they were to organize, they’d do it to gain a bigger share of the imperial pie, not due to any sort of activism.

More than working in a deeply unethical job, I think the reason to avoid these jobs is because you can’t effect any positive change here, there’s too much resistance, these will likely be the last holdouts of capitalism when the tide finally turns left in the West. Go somewhere else where you can organize a workplace and find people who are more receptive to Marxist thought.

I’m so surrounded by treatlerites that I’ve come to sound like an accelerationist. They’re all labor aristocrats and petty-bourgeois wannabes, so they’re not representative of the average person, but they’re so full of themselves and callous towards people having it worse than them, either at home or abroad in imperialized countries, that I just can’t fathom any other way for them to open up to left-wing ideas without their imperial treats being cut off first (although I’m sure the vast majority of them will end up going mask-off, as usual, and publicly embracing islamophobic/xenophobic/queerphobic discourse)

I’ve noticed this as well and it’s infuriating. Literally had one Chinese liberal in a group doing everything in their power to segue group conversations to some “China bad” topic. Always twisting the truth and selectively leaving stuff out, short of telling outright lies. Like one example: they grew up in China, so they know social credit score isn’t a thing, but still mentioned banning people from travelling first class om trains or something similar, with the underlying assumption that this is just one example of the “social credit score” because that’s what someone had mentioned previously. Or one time they said how they never got to vote in any election, conveniently leaving out the fact that they weren’t of voting age when living there (that came out later). Or another time they repeated all the tinyman square massacre crap. Also turns out their family is filthy rich but lost some due to some unspecified misfortunes with their businesses. Smells like classic gusano.

True, although in this case I seriously doubt it is a class thing because:

1. The victim was a worker, plain and simple. Yes, better off than the average worker and probably closer to what people imagine as “the well-off middle class”, but part of the working class nonetheless. If the attacker’s motivations could really be considered a class thing, they were extremely stupid as they just killed a worker.
2. Luigi is still in recent memory, so the framing of this article makes it look to me more like an attempt to bank on the victim’s title sounding important, in order to get some views.

That’s the point, to sound more important than your role really is. You don’t even have to manage people, you can be at the bottom of the corporate hierarchy and still a VP only because you’ve got like 5 years of experience.
