  • Yes! That is the way I use it. I have stellaris since release and own quiet a few dlcs, but they keep pumping out more and more so I went the high sea route about a year ago. It makes it even easier when you have the base game legit on steam, because then you get access to the workshop and dont have to work around it when you want to play modded.

Most uploaders there post the dlc files separate from the main game. You can just pull them in Stellaris’ DLC folder and overwrite all (I own some of them, but still do it). Then follow the instructions for CreamAPI (I’m on linux, so I use this) and launch Stellaris. The launcher will complain that it cannot verify ownership for the DLCs you dont own, but I had no issues playing singleplayer and multiplayer, both as host and client, with this method.

Downside is that you sometimes have to wait with patches to the game until new files are uploaded on the forum.

(The same method also works for Hearts of Iron IV and other Paradox titles)

  • The courts very likely will strike something like this down, but the people responsible know this. Court dealings can take years and during this time our privacy gets violated and some kind of profit is made.

And even when this law is declared illegal the existing data will likely be kept, only new collection is stopped (happened in Germany)

Set ~150 years in the future, where humans gained the ability to augment their bodies with all kinds of implants. A middle-aged doctor decides to offer her services for free for people who need them, after she has seen the suffering that people cast aside by mega-corps have to bear. Noticing that many of her patients suffer from malfunctioning implants, that were practically forced on them by their workplace, so she contacts an old friend. This friend is sympathetic to her cause and offers their services as an electrical engineer specialized in designing interfaces between nerve systems and implants. Together they discover that these malfunctions are intentionally created, so corporations have another stream of revenue.

By helping the affected people, they slightly cut into the profit of a certain corporation, that sends a covert operative to check what is going on. After the doctor is “discovered”, this operative gets the order to eliminate the thread to the corpo’s profit. He decides to pose as a patient in need and assassinate the doctor, but fails for some reason. After that, he uses some kind of implant/tech to change his appearance to approach the doctor again (and uses swords, maybe?)
