Food and Cooking@beehaw.org•[Fermented] First batch of kimchi in 6 monthsEnglish
2·2 years agoThat’s awesome!! There’s so many delicious banchan. My favorites were always kimchi and japchae, but almost all of them are good!
Kimchi can definitely get too sour for certain things! One thing I love to use super sour kimchi in is pork stew. We just take a pork butt or shoulder and cook it on low with a jar of super super kimchi. So good!

Chat@beehaw.org•What is your ideal ratio of fridge to freezer space? And how many people in your household use it? My freezer is tiny and it's packed like a neutron star!English
2·2 years agoI’m not sure what our ratio is, but we have a freezer on bottom drawer (which I love) plus a small standalone freezer in our garage and a side-by-side fridge also in the garage. I’m guessing it all works out to about 60:40.

Technology@beehaw.org•We can leave the Solar System, but arriving anywhere is not happening soon
3·2 years ago49 here, and I was always hopeful that I’d see us make it to another solar system in my lifetime. Another planet in our solar system would still be great, though!

4·2 years agoI will say though that it’s a good way to find interesting things outside of your instance. But it can require a bit of digging.

7·2 years agoI checked the box to see NSFW stuff for the same reason. The app I’m using (Connect) hides the previews for NSFW stuff, so that’s handy.
Thanks! We thought about going to the castle, but that doesn’t sound very appealing now.
Man, I love peanut butter. I could eat it out of the jar with a spoon. Sadly, I’m now allergic to peanuts.
It never tasted bitter to me. But I always got the brands with sugar and salt mixed into them.

Chat@beehaw.org•Would you ever buy a house if you could get a really good deal on it, and it was right next to a lovely park and a trail, but a murder-suicide happened in it? (And it was cleaned and repaired)English
4·2 years agoYes. But maybe have a priest bless the place and someone burn some sage. Like, just to be extra sure.

3·2 years agoI did, until the engine blew up. The smell never really went away.

Connect for Lemmy App@lemmy.ca•Two issues I'm running intoEnglish
1·2 years agoI do, but that’s not the part that I had a problem with. It’s when I tried to post something:

None of the options circled in red matched lemmyconnect@lemmy.ca, so I was unable to post my question to this community through Connect.
Oddly, it’s working correctly today:

A grilled cheese is only a grilled cheese if the most singificant portion of the ingredients between the bread is cheese. Otherwise, it is a grilled X with cheese.

My family and I went to Savannah, GA on vaacation recently. It was really nice. My wife and I are going to Edinburgh for our 10th wedding anniversary.
