55·13 hours agowhat’s the news here? They are basically using the same arguments the US used to not ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Minors being the parents property is still an almost uncontroversial position in the US even if people don’t phrase it like that.
I know people that enjoy those jobs in real life. If you don’t need to deal with American customer level of entitlement they can be great occupations for extroverts.

11·1 day agoIn this case christian name is a synonym for given name. I bet if someone was baptised with a name that doesn’t match their legal given name it would be the wrong choice in this context.
Light movie spoilers
The “funny” thing is that the conflict in the movie has elements from a bunch of real world conflicts baked into it. Except for the Americans being allied with the aggressors it’s closer to being an exaggerated version of the Yugoslavian wars in Bosnia and Kosovo, especially since “borovian” is just a bastardized version of serbo-croatian, and I also see some Darfur inspired details. But the shoe seems to have fit into just one foot.
