Love the Gemini support! Will definitely check this out.

Haven’t looked at reddit since the first exodus. Feels good.
Don’t know who needs to hear this but you don’t need to season stainless steel. You just need to pre-heat it correctly for it to gain non-stick properties.
You have to pre-heat to around 400 degrees Fahrenheit before you put anything in the pan - including oil. You know its good when you drop some water in and it immediately beads up and glides across the entire surface. If it boils and evaporates, the pan is still too cold. If it beads up and starts to glide but freaks out in a certain spot, you have a cold spot in your pan. You’re trying to achieve the leidenfrost effect
Keep in mind that in a lot of dishes you actually want some of the food to stick to the pan and become [frond].(https://www.thespruceeats.com/all-about-fond-995681) Then you deglaze it later with some kind of wine or stock.
Stainless steel is perfect for this kind of cooking. I’ve been using it exclusively for years. Its versatility and low maintenance is why all the best kitchens in the world use it.
Oh yeah, Im pretty sure it was the first one and I think it was created by one of the cannon brothers. Idk if you’re into fighting games like that but they started evo and are currently the lead developers on Riot’s 2xko. Great dudes, super smart. Blew my mind when I found out.
I dont know much about Game dev, other than its really hard. I’m more into the networking & infrastructure side. Thats what drew me in to rollback in the first place. I’ve also been playing fighting games for longer than I care to admit lol
I might have heard of fightcade before but I didn’t know what it was until you mentioned it. It sound amazing, Im definitely going to check it out. Good looks!
That’s crazy. I’m clearly not an expert either but what you’re saying makes a lot of sense though - at least, to my dumb ass lol. Its probably one of the reasons why I hear its so hard to implement. One day I’ll dive deeper on it.
I never thought about how rollback would affect audio. Thats a really good point. Ideally, rollback would trigger a re-fire of whatever audio script it needed to locally, right? I wonder if KIs original netcode is sending some audio cues over the network and that’s the work around.
Loved the upskill challenge. Really helped a lot in the beginning. Glad to see it on Lemmy.
Fair point but if the US insists on being run like a business, then I’m going to treat it like one.
If I go to a restaurant with shitty food and shitty service, I’m paying my tab, leaving, and never coming back.
I’m not going to waste my time going home and writing yelp reviews so that the manager can offer me a free appetizer the next time I come in.
Place sucks.
Do you have a minute to talk about my lord and savior VIM? Wanna see my dot files?
Good looks! Thanks for the well thought out response. I don’t think I’ve ever used my direct baking info for anything. It always seemed like a terrible idea.
Credit card seems to be the way to go. Although, there have been some fairly recent developments in NFC exploits and I’m not sure I trust tap payments any more than swipe or chip.
I saw this a while ago. Its a little technical but still accessible
Hey thanks! I’ve heard that they require you to submit a copy of your drivers license in order to sign up… idk if Im comfortable with that honestly but maybe I’ll give it a shot. I appreciate the recommendation!
Some mans are unreadable. I’ve been curling cheat.sh/[command] and its been great for example commands. Highly recommend.
No starch press is my favorite. Welcome!
Agreed. As someone who doesn’t really like shooters and never got into League or DOTA, I had mixed feelings about playing a ‘hero shooter/moba’. I’m actually blown away at how good it is. They did phenomenal job. 10/10.
Good looks, thank you!
Don’t worry bro, its just me and 2000 of my closest friends. Totally legit.
I’m sure nuclear can be super safe and efficient. The science is legit.
The problem is, at some point something critical to the operation of that plant is going to break. Could be 10 years, could be 10 days. It’s inevitable.
When that happens, the owner of that plant has to make a decision to either:
In our current society, I don’t have to guess which option the owner is going to choose.
Additionally, we live in a golden age of deregulation and weaponized incompetence. If a disaster did happen, the response isn’t going to be like Chernobyl where they evacuate us and quarantine the site for hundreds of years until its safe to return. It’ll be like the response to the pandemic we all just lived through. Or the response to the water crisis in Flint Michigan. Or the train derailment in East Palestine.
Considering the fallout of previous disasters, I think it’s fair to say that until we solve both of those problems, we should stay far away from nuclear power. We’re just not ready for it.
