I don’t like how people continue to use pepe to signify the right, I have literally never seen someone use pepe as a right wing hate symbol or whatever the fuck and even if they do I don’t give a shit, pepe did nothing wrong.

Believe it or not the average normie likes LLMs and image generation, lemmy might have you think otherwise but image generation is a popular thing these days.

You are under the impression that the majority of the population uses image generation for profit. No. Anecdotically, it seems like the average population in my experience is sort of fond of image generation and I think the vast, vast majority of it is done by people who just want to make an image for themselves personally, and no they would have never paid anyone
Ya, but I rather think about it as an ‘enhanced spectrum’ image. The structures you see are all real and similarly coloured, it’s just enhanced

That is a better way of putting it, but also requires someone trying to pass off the image as their own. So it wouldn’t really be plagarism if you just said it was a generated image off the bat imo.
In the context of the OP I don’t think it’s plagiarism though since only some of the images is generated
Same with one of my cats. The majority of the day she doesn’t seek out attention or show all that much affection besides during feeding time. But as soon as I get in bed, she’s there instantly purring loudly and stomping all over my chest begging for intense rubs.
4·5 days agoYou act like Apple doesn’t collect an absolute massive amount of data on every one of their devices and users. Sure it’s done In a more clandestine way than Google but they still do.
With Google I can run a security focused ROM like GrapheneOS and have virtually no data collection on my device, while with apple black boxes you will enjoy the illusion of data privacy and be happy about it.
I know installing custom ROMs is not standard user behaviour and I will concede that in many instances apple is better than stock android for privacy /security, but the way you framed your argument erked me because you cant say or prove anything with their closed source black boxes. Apple aren’t good people, they are anti consumer and exist to make money. Of course they collect data.
The thing is people who generate images likely never would do “real art” by hand anyway. They are two different categories of people doing completely different things. They can both do their own thing, it’s not as big of a deal as many of you make it out to be.

2·5 days agoThe YouTube music app has always been very snappy and responsive on my phone. I think the ui is slick although not always optimal to navigate while driving.
Yes, but at least in my area, which is a mid-sized city, shopping malls are still alive and well.
