hatte mich mal kurz damit beschäftigt weil ich mich selber damit beschäftigt habe. wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe: TOTP geht prinzipiell nicht, weil es nicht eine überprüfung und bestätigung des überweisungsbetrags und des empfänherkontos auf dem zweiten faktor gerät ermöglicht. dies muss es aber per gesetz können. das kann auch fido2 und u2f leider nicht. theoretisch dürfte man aber zum einloggen diese technologien benutzen, nur nicht zum überweisen. ich wünsche mir auch eine universellere authentifizierungs-technologie wie fido2 nur eben mit text der angezeigt werden mann oder so, dsmir sowas möglich ist.

das mit den apps ist teilweise ein trick, weil man eben dann zwei apps hat, wo die tan app als zweiter faktor gilt, obwohl es das selbe gerät ist. dann gab es irgendwann mal “2-in-1” apps, die eben immernoch gesetzlich irgendwie galten als 2fa methode, obwohl es dann im geiste natürlich spätestens dann wirklich nicht mehr als 2fa methode zu sehen ist. weiß garnicht, wie das heute geregelt ist.

in der tat. das habe ich mir leider “gönnen” müssen, und muss auch in der tat feststellen, dass diese karte mir fast nichts bringt außer dass ich 2fa mit tangerät machen kann… trotzdem insgesamt günstiger als fast jede andere bank. kostet halt ca. 3 mal weniger döner essen im jahr.

EDIT: anmerkung, die dkb debit karte kann technologisch nicht mit dem tangerät verwendet werden. die girokarte kann das, und diese kostet halt eben leider extra.

welche bank?

ich mache alles 100% ohne app mit dkb, und mit sparkasse geht es auch, und volksbank sollte auch gehen. andere banken auch. hab halt so ein tan gerät, kann man als nervig sehen, aber ich mach das so und finde es ganz gut.

hiding my phone number is a good privacy and security feature. however, it doesn’t change the fact that signal is a platform intended for personal communication, in some sense reolacing sms. it is my (and in principle, by design, anyone’s) most personal means of communication in terms of what you have in your pocket and how immediately available or contactable you are. it is not feasible to separate very close personal stuff from bug groups of strangers that you might not want to have in the same datastream as your most important communication, since it is not easily possible to have multiple accounts in parallel (you would need multiple phone numbers, meaning multiple sim cards and multiple phones).

i have had many instances where people (sometimes complete strangers) from big groups have contacted me privately. usually well-intentioned, but still, i don’t want to be contacted by strangers on the platform that i intend to be available at all times. and blocking also sucks then. also, when searching contacts in signal, all people from these big groups pop up.

these big group chats, even with notifications off, clutter up my important means of communication. i don’t want stupid meme groups to be interlaced with my personal communication with my loved ones.

sorry for the rant, i think signal sucks for this purpose.

indeed, the anti-limux stuff was a sort of microsoft marketing campain in disguise.

microsoft lobbied munich to abandon linux after they adopted it while abandoning windows, and also put in great effort to paint the narrative that it was due to linux being bad. they successfully pointed to things that didn’t work with linux, masking that the reason these things didn’t work were not due to linux but due to not updating or other administrative problems not related to the operating system.

microsoft paid thelinuxexperiment to make a video about this? don’t think so

gutes mem, aber gleichzeitig meine empfehlung: mach einfach arch.

ich wollte manjaro mögen, aber zu viel scheiße passiert da leider. von späten security updates zu komischen update blockaden weil die verkacken, ihre ssl zertifikate rechtzeitig zu erneuern, und deswegen man zum updaten mal seine systemuhr in die vergangenheit setzen musste, oder einfach weil wenn man anleitungen für bestimmte sachen für arch hat, die nicht immer dann sofort bei manjaro funktionieren. mittlerweile ist arch installieren mit offiziellen installern auch super einfach geworden. kanns sehr empfehlen!
