Their claims that this is just a war with some collateral damage might work now, while they can keep the official death count frozen, but once the killing ends and the settlers start moving into a completely baron wasteland with no one left alive, they will completely lose any plausible deniability if they don’t pivot now.

The 377000 figure was arrived at by implications of the fact that Israeli documents showed a total population of Gaza that much lower than the pre- October 7 population.
That would also be inline with the lancet estimating 186000 dead last July, and Trump making remarks that indicated a current population about 400,000 less than pre-October 7th.
And given that the western media has unanimously committed to the absurd claim that the death count has remained perfectly static for the last 6+ months, these are about the best attempts at the true figure we can get
