Or public transit. Or public parks. Or grocery stores.
Ah, you’re right. Got it mixed up with furnace fans which have smaller caps.
Another big area of Windows that uses kernel-level drivers is anti-cheating engines for games. Microsoft has been speaking with game developers about how to reduce the amount of kernel usage, but it’s a more complicated use case as cheaters often have to purposefully tamper with their machine to disable protections and get cheating engines running.
“A lot of [game developers] would love to not have to maintain kernel stuff, and they are very interested in how they do that,” Weston says. “We’ve been talking about the requirements there, and I think we’ll have more to say on that in the near future.” Riot Games told me last year that it’s willing to follow potential Windows security changes and “recede from the kernel space.”

It’s a large capacitor. They are used in those big outdoor AC units to kick start the fan compressor. Being outdoors and subject to large temperature changes and vibrations for years they inevitably fail.

Windy.com is fun to play with.
Android there’s Flowx, Raindar II for basic but quick local radar, and Breezy Weather for a more traditional but open source option.
It appears President Donald Trump won’t be getting anywhere close to the $20 billion he demanded from CBS and its parent company Paramount Global now that a mediator proposed a $20 million settlement instead.
The proposal would include a $17 million payment to Trump’s presidential library, $2 million more than ABC’s settlement with Trump in December, and another $3 million in legal fees and public service announcements covering antisemitism
He’s the next Joe Manchin. Mainchin wielded outsized influence being at the extreme edge of the party with an electorate willing to keep him there. Wouldn’t be surprised if Fetterman finds that appealing.
In my opinion it’s pointless to try to find meaning in popularity polling like this.
For decades I had the belief that maybe 60% of people on the opposite ends of the political spectrum - 30% per side - we’re so so extreme in their beliefs and/or allegiance that they were essentially unreachable. No amount of reasoning or effort could change their minds. They were therefore not worth my energy, personally, to discuss politics with.
Now I’m convinced it’s more like 45%, or even higher, at least on the right. The gap between the polling is immaterial: when it comes time to vote they could never imagine voting for the other side.
When every election of consequence comes down to 2% or less, and the best one could hope for is the other side doesn’t show up due to lack of enthusiasm, that’s a fucking sad place for a country to be.
My understanding is they had next to zero R&D in BEV and are using this to bridge the gap until they come up with something of their own.
I wonder how many know they’re leasing a rebadged Chevy Blazer EV?
Exactly. Headlines all too often portray groups as monoliths, applying the opinion of some as being the opinion of all.
I’m sure some are disagreeing, but I highly doubt all, or even a majority, disagree. Give the spin machine some time to do it’s work and before you know it many will cheer the demise of Juneteenth, labor day, and MLK day.
Remember many celebrate this as proof of agressive action. It’s a win for them, even if it ignores the fact this is supposedly a democracy bound by law and process and co-equal branches of government.

Their children are dying from measles. They still support him. Their parents, spouses, and children are being snatched up. They still support him.
You give these people too much credit assuming they have any capacity for empathy. Removing them from the voting rolls by death or disappearance won’t do a thing to change this.
