I think this is the smartphonification of the desktop. Android and iOS hide most settings, it works out of the box, while the user has no idea what’s happening in the background. To be honest: at least the reliability of the software has drastically improved. Nowadays the network just works, so no need to know the details. I remember the days of Win95 and BNC network, where it always took an hour and several tries until the network was up.
So I synchronize file system <-> cryptomator <-> file system <-> cloud.
And I need additional disk space for the encrypted files.
I didn’t check all these providers, but from my experience most use proprietary software, which is a no for me, especially when it comes to client side encryption.

Guess what the guys an McKinsey are doing…
True, but with apps not only the government, but the companies can spy on you.
Why would anyone (besides some privacy conscious nerds) go back to using a dumb phone? Besides everyone using WhatsApp as the default messenger, in so many aspects of life we’re damned to use apps. Banking, charging electric vehicle, insurances, loyalty programs, etc.
Whatever is your dumb phone will run on, an Android compatibility layer is an absolute must.
Not that I’ll ever use it, as I assume they will use it to block/censor unwanted domains and services.
The “toggle switch”. In the past we had these checkboxes. A black square. If it had a x or check mark in it, it meant this option was active, otherwise not.
Now we have these fancy toggle switches. If it’s on the left side, is it on or off? What if it’s blue, or grey?
From my experience outlook flags emails as unimportant, that are quickly deleted, or deleted while being unread. So for me it’s not too far off.
Once you decline a meeting, it’s gone for good in your calendar. If you accidentally declined, you need to ask for another invite.
If you decline a meeting the original meeting will be moved to the trash. So go to trash and you can accept it again.
Amazon is already locking down the fire stick. A few years ago you could easily modify the software via adb, deactivate the updater, uninstall the menu. In the meantime they made it much harder, luckily I modified mine in time.
Most legacy car manufacturers have electric vehicles nowadays. Just look for your favorite brand or compare, and select a car you like.
