Some ICE employees believe that the shift in priorities is driven by a political preoccupation with deportation numbers rather than keeping communities safe.

“Some … believe.” Are the ICE agents clueless about what they are being asked to do, or is The Atlantic purposefully trying to be as soft as possible in its phrasing? The administration has been explicit that mass deportation is the goal.

I’m surprised that hasn’t happened yet.

The US has more privately owned guns than people. Ban or no ban, the US is not getting rid of all those guns any time soon.

Rather, perhaps the left should re-learn that the 2nd Amendment is for them, too.

I don’t think mutual aid and civil disobedience is going to stop things like the $7.4B arms sale to Israel that was announced earlier this week. But surely that is part of this acceptable compromise the Greens made?
