I assume game studios are currently extremely well secured on par with film production considering how much money goes into it. Back in the day, maybe not so much. But then you might also be limited by the capabilities of portable data storage. Kind of harder to smuggle out a dozen floppy disks than one thumb drive. Plus, they literally get the FBI to investigate if they notice something gets stolen, so it’s really not a simple thing to just walk out of work one day with the source code of the game you’ve been working on for years.

Absolutely. Not because I think it would necessarily be better off, but because I don’t want us to contribute to the empire and the loss of our economy would devastate the US.

Echoing what others have already said, but also anyone who was at City Hall today can tell you it was not just some liberal parade. The entire fucking crowd gathered up and took it straight to the cops around the corner.

No doubt you get your money’s worth on other hardware. And I’m a longtime emulator fan, but I recognize that they’re a good step above the average person’s comfort level when it comes to computer gaming.

Plenty of valid answers already, but also: Humans vs humans is an easy source of conflict. Writers could create nuanced stories of cooperation in the face of apocalyptic adversity, but it’s probably way harder to keep that interesting for multiple seasons than bad people are going to try to kill us and take our shit.

Seeing video of Rahaf giggling and playing around on her two prosthetic legs with Ms Rachel made me fucking sob, man. Seeing kids suffering is devastating, but it wrecks me to see how after all they’ve been through they can still be kids, still have fun and laugh, and knowing that thousands of those children will never even get the chance to experience that again. It makes me feel so sick and empty.

I’ve used Windows my whole life at home. Last year I realized I kind of hate gaming at a desk since I’m at one all day for work, so I bought a used Steam Deck. Literally have not touched Windows since. I probably don’t need a home computer anymore and if I need one in the future, I’m confident it won’t be running Windows.

I went to several meetings with some MLMZT folks in my neighborhood and all this time I referred to them as Maoists. I am still so fucking uneducated sometimes it’s unreal lol.

I was curious, but read the multiplayer functionality is heavily limited. I can’t see myself going too deep on one of these games without doing everything with a friend.
