  • Pure luck? No, thats a friend of mine. All my luck is heavily slanted by skill. I worked for all of the shit I have.

Love him like a brother, but the fucker falls by sheer chance into the craziest situations.

Looking to buy a condo or a house. Ends up getting a 50% off steal of a price for a divorcing couple on a huge lot. 5 years later the fucker is wanting to move. Within a month, finds a bigger house right in the city that is walkable to his work. That family was helping the seller of the house they were buying find a large lot that could fit two houses. By chance, the house he had fit the bill. The three of them traded properties.

  • I did his “optimized” shading trick for a game my friends and I built for a coding project in school.

Because the project was due in three hours and we realized that we didn’t have any menus. So it was a matter of getting anything functional as menus(stage selection, button mapping, main menu.)
So the game itself capped at 60fps on the potato school computers, but the static menus only got 20fps.

  • There is a shifting of themes that basically tracks with the corporate takeover of the US government.

    1. (1993) Companies fucking around with systems they don’t understand is the problem. Rich guy underestimates nature.
    2. (1997) Rich guy learned lesson. Corporate greed did not.
    3. (2001) post-dotcom crash: A rich fucker and his stupid family learn the lesson about the company that fucked with nature. Governments are bad for not interveneing.
    4. (2015) post-Birther: Company and its rich founder are naive and innocent. US Government and US education are the bad guys.
    5. (2018) Corporate suits are the good guys. Science is the bad guys.
    6. (2022) A (suddenly) European company is the bad guys. Science is again the bad guy. Americans are the good guys.
    7. (2025) The US company and Military are the good guys.
