I would also add to what you’re saying about the lunapark - capitalism could work as part of a larger system. At least I think it could. But the uber rich have decimated the normal checks and balances which are the most important element to any system - not just a capitalist democracy.

In a humane world a person should be embarrassed and shamed for saying something like ‘what if I don’t feel comfortable with their lifestyle’ - in ANY situation, not to mention a medical one. How about just some basic human decency? What about live and let live? Ideas that we’d all want for ourselves but somehow some of us find it so difficult to afford to others.

That’s really good and I want to add that in my experience finding humor somehow in the despairs or at least refusing to let yourself suffer is the true secret to getting older. Not that it’s easy and I certainly don’t have it all figured out but I do sincerely believe it’s important.

Yeah I have mixed feelings about this too. I hope they have data to show that that is not necessary. If I were in charge I’d have large parking structures around the perimeter of the transit network so people can get to it from outside of town and are able to use it easily without the friction of finding a spot. That way more people can get to it and use it but fewer people need cars within it.
