Der könnte dann mit Vorschaubildern arbeiten etc…

Martin Holland@social.heise.deOPtoAndroid@fedia.io•So here's a question: Is there an app for #Mastodon that plays videos from #Peertube directly in the timeline?1·22 days agoThe only thing that works seems to be a #PWA of #Mastodon directly, but then it’s really smooth… So maybe that’s the suggestion?
Martin Holland@social.heise.deOPto Fediverse@lemmy.world•Let's try it again: This post from #Mastodon can reach the whole #Fediverse, #Bluesky & more. That's #Sharkey, #Pixefeld (hence the pic), #Mbin, #Lemmy, #Friendica, #Hometown, #Akkoma... How far can31·6 months agoHonestly, please tell me more about how I can commercialize this posts. This would make it easier for me to justify all I’m doing here out of interest and goodwill towards #Mastodon etc. Mainly in my freetime, if I may add… (I’m using this account, because this is the one for technical stuff and it has greater reach)
I didn’t “mindlessly” tag the Lemmy community, but because I knew, that otherwise it would be very difficult to spread over there.

This is not the first such post: I have a tool, that makes it simple to later visualize from where the reactions came.

I think it’s quite interesting to compare the promise of the #Fediverse (reach so many different networks) with the reality (it’s mainly #Mastodon). And this is a good way, I think. On the other hand, this posts do show, how far your content can go.

Martin Holland@social.heise.deOPto Fediverse@lemmy.world•A post to traverse the Fediverse & beyond :fedi:7·11 months agoLemmy overtakes Mastodon!
(at least, when I treat Upvotes as Faves and count them directly in #Lemmy, as opposed to via the API from #Mastodon) Quite a lot of ifs, I know. But at least I found an aspect of the interactions with this post, that is not totally dominated by #Mastodon. 😅
See the post on Lemmy:

Martin Holland@social.heise.deOPto Fediverse@lemmy.world•A post to traverse the Fediverse & beyond :fedi:7·11 months agoEven at the third attempt, it’s almost only #Mastodon, from where I see shares. But that again just underscores the dominance of Mastodon. (To be clear, there are others, but I don’t see them here)
I think, that’s it for me with trying to get a post get a substancial amount of interactions from the rest of the #Fediverse. But that still were some fun little experiments showing the diversity of the software connected in the Fediverse.
Thanks everyone for participating!

For most parts of the #Fediverse you don’t need to do something special. But it helps, i f you don’t include special stuff like polls.
In addition, this account is bridged via #BridgyFed to #Bluesky, where one can interact with it, too.I plan to analyse from which software #Mastodon sees the boosts, but it seems like that will look like:

Favs from #lemmy and #mbin aren’t shown here on #Mastodon, right? And I think, it’s not customary to boost or share in this RedditAlternatives. That’s seems to be, why I still not see much from the activity happening over there. 😕

I’ll gladly pass that on, as it’s not my call.
@MrKaplan
Thanks for the answer and the confirmation.
You’re right about it being the default on #Mastodon, but it can be changed now. mastodon.social now sends a simple referrer and where’s the harm on a bigger platform with many different users?
Here’s a nice explanation for why it could help adoption and help with the visibility of a platform like lemmy.wotld without making users unsafe:
