  • I think the windshield thing and general bug population decline is moreso due to “fogging” and boomer landscaping practices than climate change (at this point). I’ve seen lots of sensationalist videos showing no bugs under the rocks or bemoaning the lack of fire flies in the summer. However the former seemed to be a video during the winter in a cold climate which I think is misleading and as for the fire flies, I heard they lay their eggs in fallen leaves.

I left my leaves out last year and now I’m seeing more fire flies than I’ve seen in a long while. We’ve also been letting our lawn just do its thing, no chemicals just cutting and trimming here and there and planing/leaving native species. Let me tell you, my yard is absolutely lousy with bugs and it’s really a tiny yard.

  • it fits a weird niche being on youtube instead of a more “direct” social media like instagram or facebook. I’ve seen kids who don’t have a smart phone, but they have a switch. Can’t run tik tok on the switch but you can run youtube. I’ve seen a handful of kids swiping their nintendos. Personally, it gets me because I basically just go here and youtube since I quit instagram.

Certainly a bad thing, but it gets use because it extends the swipe addiction outside of social media.

  • Lmao she wanted her dead fathers things from her mother who (likely) refused to hand them over?? Girl it’s your mother you can’t find a way to be alone in her house without a b&e dressed like a cartoon goon?

Now that I’m thinking about it she probably dressed like that because of the cameras. But like I could break any electronic thing belonging to my parents or grandparents and when then find it all i’d have to do is shrug and say “yeah I heard they can break like that sometimes.” Old people never take responsibility for tech issues anyway.

  • So your options are A. the crushing of thy soul or B. the scary and unfamiliar.

    Maybe there’s a compromise.

Is there anyone you like in this world? Anyone you feel understands you? Go visit them. Experience what it’s like to have an actual support system even if it’s just for a weekend.

I’ve been in a similar situation as you. I ended up moving back to my home town purely for the friends that still lived there and honestly it was one of the best decisions of my life. Had to live through the covid crisis at my moms house but at this point I’m so glad I decided to move back over struggling to keep my head above water completely isolated from the people I care about.
