You can’t get past the old brain problem though so Donny’s shit out of luck.

Except we’ve been eliminating manual labour jobs for much longer than we’ve had AI.

Btw, has anyone here actually got hacked? I feel like the media always overexaggerates “hacking” and its mostly people just using weak passwords (user error), not really hacking.
It’s more likely to be that they found out your login credentials, yes.
They might find a site with crappy security where they can try many usernames and passwords without getting blocked or they might actually hack the site and get the password list.
Having a strong password, not reusing passwords and enabling MFA goes a long way towards protecting against those scenarios.

Very funny.

nogooduser@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Kim Jong Un slams South Korea-US drills during an inspection of his most powerful warshipEnglish6·21 days agoThere are regulations governing the materials they can be made of.
Right? It’s only funny if he voted for the people who put this policy in place.
There wasn’t really a viable alternative. The Conservatives were also intending to put something like this in place.
nogooduser@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Trump says Ukraine needs to make a deal after summit with Putin ends without ceasefireEnglish91·24 days agoThere are several problems with making a deal like that.
The primary one is that they already had a deal with Russia and Russia broke it in 2014 and then again in 2022. So why would anyone believe that another deal would stick? They’d just take time to regroup and be back a few years later.
Another is that making a deal where Russia keeps the land that they have control over isn’t a deal, it’s letting Russia keep what they stole. What would Ukraine get from this deal (other than the end to the war as you pointed out)? That’s like making a deal with a burglar saying that they can keep what they stole as long as they get out of the house.

Israelis killed at least 25 people. I think that there’s never been a better use for the phrase “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”

It’s all about levels.
It’s entirely different to have a 30 second conversation about picking up milk compared to joining a work meeting.
Especially when that work meeting is a video call that is distracting the driver (they are looking at the phone in the picture).
There are definitely those that would ban all phone calls when driving.

nogooduser@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israel closes 88% of cases of alleged war crimes or abuse without charges – reportEnglish5·1 month agoYou’re talking about some fairy-land stories with rainbow ponies where there is no evil anyway.
I realise that what I’m talking about isn’t working in the IDF but your analogies are not right.
The military isn’t one person who’s turning themself in. It’s an organisation of many people so nobody would be punishing themselves.
It’s like a cashier being caught stealing from the cash drawer. They don’t punish themselves, their employer punishes them and possibly reports them to the police for further punishment.
That’s how it’s supposed to work but isn’t in this case because the whole military is on the same page.
nogooduser@lemmy.worldto World News@lemmy.world•Israel closes 88% of cases of alleged war crimes or abuse without charges – reportEnglish8·1 month agoDo you expect them to prosecute themselves?
That is sort of how it’s supposed to work, yes. That’s how it’s supposed to work in any organisation.
A person doing a bad thing that gets reported should be investigated internally. They should take appropriate action based upon that investigation. The investigator(s) should be looking to protect the organisation by rooting out the bad apples.
Unfortunately, when too much of the barrel is bad the bad apples protect each other instead of the organisation.
In this case, so much of the organisation is bad that protecting the organisation requires that the bad apples be protected and shit gets covered up.

Basil needs trimming every day? Maybe I’ve just discovered why I can never keep basil plants alive.
Goat’s cheese and caramelised red onion is a good topping. The goat’s cheese doesn’t replace the mozzarella though.
I’m not sure that Wensleydale would work though.
I’d also like to point out that when you say “the energy mix” you’re not meaning the energy mix used by this project.
If any of our energy is from fossil fuels then increasing the use of energy increases the use of fossil fuels. Even if a new project uses 100% renewable energy it will increase the amount of fossil fuels used until we’ve eliminated them completely.
