Seconding the thread of folks being like, “I gotta do the training anyway so fuck it,” BUT I did think it was very funny that frequently after sending out a phishing test or whatever, this would be followed up with an email requesting the security training, and invariably a bunch of people would report THAT.

After I talked about it enough in my friend chat, three more friends followed suit and a fourth is going to soon. It’s not just the end of supporting Windows 10, it’s all of the repeated bugs, glitches, and AI garbage Microsoft has been pushing everywhere so aggressively. People who would likely only rate themselves as “mildly” tech savvy are sick of it and willing to make a move, I feel.

Set up Zipline to share bigger files with my friends.

Don’t forget “I earned this!” while shaking down the serfs and scooping up what comes out.

If I ever develop an egg allergy I am completely fucked lol
other_cat@piefed.zipto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What did you treat yourself to most recently? English9·6 days agoI did well on a couple interviews today so I walked down to the local cafe and had a chai latte and a maple bar.
Tomorrow, if I do well on that interview, I’ll go walk downtown and get lunch at the local thai restaurant I like!

Considering how un-tech savvy newer generations are, I would not be shocked if the idea of being able to tell a computer what to do and “it just does it” appeals. This is, of course, assuming it works as intended (lol.)
I also see this as a further dumbing down of that ability to understand tech. Hypothetically, if this were to launch, go mainstream, and the vast majority of future computer users use it, can you imagine a world in which a future teenager looks confused and goes, “What’s an app?”

I listened to a Dark History podcast episode on Booth and I’m not sure people would be as shocked as you’d think haha.

This latest round of covid + flu boosters really kicked my ass. Normally I can weather it with just a sore arm for a day. This one gave me body aches for two days, which hadn’t happened since the first covid booster. So if anyone’s had reactions before, definitely plan for a potential one this time.
