  • Chalk dust is non-toxic, but it’s not safe to inhale in large quantities.

Adding calcium carbonate to soil increases its alkalinity and fucks with trees.

This is a good example of a simple, easy to understand solution to a complex problem that’s completely wrong. It’s the opposite concept to KISS. Terraforming is not simple or easy to understand because of the possible side effects.

National socialists that only wanted socialism for their true Christian evangelical Germans. And no one else. Catholics sort of stood up to them, which is why we have vague references to religious institutions resisting nazis. But yeah Christians went balls deep almost immediately into being nazis.

  • Right, I’m not arguing that landlords are good. They seem to be a symptom of a system set up to encourage their shitty behavior.

I do wonder if a housing co-op is protected by law in some way. Or more likely it relies on a few people having good intentions who are running it. A housing co-op with no intent of profiting, ever, would be a good system imo.

People not understanding the actual cost of owning and maintaining a house is my only argument for landlords. Or if you maintain it yourself it’s a knowledge and time requirement.

Not saying landlords did a great job maintaining the rentals I’ve lived in. But there was definitely a point in my life where renting made more sense than owning a house.

We really need more control on rent prices so only high density housing is rentable. Or something, I don’t have answers for why my shitty house is worth 70% more than it was 5 years ago.

  • It’s literally one of the fundamental differences between like republican voters and likely democratic voters in the US. Democratic voters don’t change their opinions based on who is doing the thing, Republicans will always agree when their leaders do the thing and disagree when democrats do it.

Semantics about, “oh it could exist”, are not worth discussing except in bad faith.

  • I previously voted republican and was raised in the fox news soup. Its cult worship behavior that forces them to worship their leader. Its a big part of why it’s hard to move away from voting republican, they are all afraid of being cut out of the in group for disagreeing. None of that shit exists on the left, which is why they always argue about the basics.

They are bloated for no reason is my problem with them. I have an older chevy 3/4 ton for hauling our camper, boat, and the shit for renovating our fixer upper. The capability of a modern 3/4 ton is like 50% more at most, yet it’s like 3 feet taller for no reason. I can still haul 3k+ lbs and tow 12k, but I can still see over the hood with very little issue.

A modern half ton is bigger than my 2001 3/4 ton truck. The bloat is real.

We do. They were printed from a print service that ships them to you. We do physical albums because I find it easier to hand to visitors than handing them my phone or trying to curate albums I can share digitally. Also don’t have to manage who has access to my digital albums.
