Eh, sometimes the corporate solution is to add more horses, just not horses that are immediately (or sometimes ever) useful. Horses that have maybe never pulled a cart before or have only ever pulled carts solo. Horses that need a month of training to be able to contribute meaningfully, often through no fault of their own, but are told that this cart needs to be pulled out of the mud in two weeks. And then when the original horses tell the cart driver that it’s going to take a month to get everyone up to speed, they completely miss the point and ask how many more horses we need.

Ya know, I’m not so sure that the old comic is necessarily just criticizing flapper girls. The way I understand the bottom text is “These are the qualities that women of these generations need to have to make men want to marry them”, so I think it’s also saying that the young men nowadays have wacky tastes as well.

If you want to be even more charitable, which is probably undeserved I know, there’s nothing explicitly written in the comic to indicate that the artist thinks one side is necessarily better than the other, just that things are different now than they used to be. It’s possible that it was created by a young guy who thinks the stuff on the left is lame and old fashioned and the stuff listed on the right kicks ass.

My pro tip for the dad and people wanting to be like the dad is to lead with the important information and then show the meme. Or even better, keep your partner in the loop regarding the stuff you’re doing as you’re doing it, at least when you’re doing this kind of stuff that is on multiple peoples’ radars. That way they don’t even start freaking out.

I just finished the demo of the upcoming Digimon game, and all of those points absolutely apply to it. But something tells me we’re not going to see Nintendo going after Bandai Namco any time soon.

And to your point about directed vs. non-directed battling, the most recent Pokemon games definitely have a system where you can be running around the over world, see Pokemon wandering around, and have your little guys pop out and go fuck them up.

I don’t understand the concept of “not being able to afford selling at that low a price” for something that’s purely digital. Like I get if you’re selling a chair and the wood and tools you used to make the chair cost you $100, you need to sell that chair for more than $100 to not lose money on the whole transaction. But for a video game, the costs have basically all been realized by the time the game gets released, right, assuming you don’t have to worry about producing physical copies or pay for servers every month? So if that’s your situation, your main concern is to find the sweet point for the price at which the most people will buy your game, yes? If you can sell ten times as many copies by cutting the price in half, you would be losing money if you didn’t go with the lower price.

My wife and I planted one a couple years ago and I’ve been bummed that I haven’t seen a single caterpillar on it yet this year. It’s nice and big now compared to its first season when the monarch caterpillars absolutely demolished its leaves.
