i think they are great when they are able to provide variety in terms of gameplay, challenge etc, as opposed to just being different layouts. My first thought is roguelikes and roguelites - Some of my favorite games are Binding of Isaac and Spelunky, which do it really well, and I still play the original roguelikes like Angband sometimes.

Just imagining the context where it would be phrased like this - “Hi, good to meet you, my first name is John, and my last name is Smith.”

Nearing the end of When the Moon Hits Your Eye by John Scalzi, which came out a few months ago. It’s a bit silly but I’d recommend it. The premise can be summed up as, “What would happen if the moon turned into cheese?”

What’s the story behind this photo?

It was definitely true in my experience- the general feeling was that it’s very hard to prove any general rules in psychology, because there are so many factors. You want to be able to say “people are ___” but people are just way too complex.

All I remember from my psychology classes is that for every study that shows some phenomenon, there’s another study that shows the opposite. That’s why I switched to math.

edit: well I guess the main reason was to help find a job…
