  • Different effects from the same diagnosis, I most likely have C-PTSD and when combined with my autism it just makes a paranoid insular asshole, get along great with military veterans funny enough. But the problem is that I basically internally self reinforce to keep myself vaguely sane and any help I could get would be at best ineffective or at worst outright damaging. Core problem is that all of the damage was done in childhood and only started to manifest particularly badly when I became an adult. Namely my hatred for authority which makes getting and keeping a job a right pain.

But I’m glad you improved yourself dude, so long as at least some of us fucked over by life improve I see it as a win.

  • Fair enough, wonder why there is the difference though since even a lot of younger members of old money families seem to pull the same shit. My only guess is that it’s connected to the concept of noble obligations that being that with wealth came responsibility, it’s the best guess I have since a lot of American old money pulls from old European aristocrats to some degree.

Mind you this is mostly based off of my observation of how long my kin held wealth vs how they held themselves. The ones who couldve been called new money blew it all within a couple generations, the ones who had the oldest lineage of nobility at worst lost and rebuilt it within a generation. Probably a side effect of chasing glory and honor vs building up wealth as a number, also probably helps to have a thousand tales of your ancestors fucking up to pull wisdom from.

  • Note I am factoring in as much the secondary effects of such a scenario, namely some level of trade collapse. Crypto of all types requires a certain level of technology that may be nonviable in a lot of places due to people not being able to get the tech or being unwilling to use it for such a purpose, even maintaining the required Internet infrastructure would be effectively impossible. A little ticket entitling someone to a pound of ground beef issued by a state who is holding things together though requires at most a printing press with a hole puncher to show used ones.

Currency is a complex thing but one of the few uniting factors for it is ease of use and ease of production. Ingots were used in the bronze age because every blacksmith needed them, coins were used in Europe for centuries because gold was a useful liquid asset that was hard to fabricate, paper money started as IOU tickets that could be exchanged for coin, and postage stamps could be used in lou of cash. Crypto almost as a baseline can’t fill the niche as required, unless you backed it similar to the previously state food stamps but at that point just use paper.
