Tl;dw: Die Alternativen sind gog.com und itch.io. Ich schaue mittlerweile auch immer zuerst auf gog bevor ich ein Spiel auf Steam kaufe, aber leider wird das nicht von unheimlich vielen Entwicklern genutzt. Itch halte ich nicht wirklich für eine Alternative, da gibt es größtenteils kleine Indieprojekte und coole, experimentelle Ideen, was ich mir zwar gerne anschauen aber halt was anderes als das Angebot bei Steam und gog ist.
